From Stranger to Neighbor

  • Makers Church 3810 Bancroft Street San Diego, CA, 92104 United States (map)

In the past few months, after the horrific events that took place in Afghanistan, many of us across the U.S. have been thinking a great deal about immigration and refugees. This is especially true in hub cities like San Diego where a large portion of Afghan refugees are landing. The question lies before us: how should we respond? While some have been engaging with this question for years and some are just starting to consider it, we all need the space to learn and respond together to our call as Christians. Come join us for a conversation on immigration and hear specifics about what’s happening in San Diego.

Come hear from Matt Soerens, U.S. Director of Church Mobilization at World Relief, and Jane Register, Church Mobilizer for World Relief SoCal, as well as personal testimony from a refugee community member. Let’s consider together our role as the church in responding to immigrants and refugees in our midst.
