On a night when people are divided between Republican and Democrat, conservative and progressive, red and blue, we gather as the body of Christ to remember who has united us. Because of the work of Jesus, those on the other side of the political aisle are not enemies to defeat but sisters and brothers to love.
The night will be focused on: worshipping the King of the Universe, remembering the Lord’s plan to reconcile and unite, proclaiming that our citizenship and allegiance belongs to the Kingdom of God, and the breaking of bread as the family of God.
For Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross, he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us.
